What we check, and reporting a profile
What the checks on a profile mean, what they don't cover, and what happens when you report something.
Every profile has a What we've checked panel. It lists each detail we've confirmed in plain words, and what we haven't checked.
What a check means
- Phone number. The professional confirmed the number with a code sent on WhatsApp. If they change their number, the check comes off until they confirm the new one.
- Email address. They confirmed the email on their account.
- Identity. A government ID was checked against the person's details.
- Business. The agency's CAC registration was checked.
A check confirms one detail. It doesn't confirm that someone owns a property, has the right to sell or let it, or will do a good job. Always make your own checks before paying.
Report a profile
Choose Report on any profile if something is wrong. Pick the reason that fits best:
- Details are wrong or out of date
- Pretending to be someone else
- Asked for money up front, or looks like a scam
- Not a real estate professional
- Offensive or inappropriate
- Something else
Add details where asked, and an email address if you'd like to hear back. Reports are private; the professional isn't told who sent one.
What happens next
Our team reviews every report. We may hide the profile from search and its page while we look into it, ask the owner to fix the details, or decide no action is needed. If you left an email address, we tell you what we decided.
To raise a concern about a review rather than a profile, see the review rules.
